A little over a decade ago, a world-renowned ice climber who was formerly a member of NATO mountaineering forces, and a gentleman who was a member of the SAS and was passionate about critical mountaineering, founded Mountain Project to develop clothing that could be worn systematically, from base layers to shells and over-jackets.
The current "Tsurugi Jacket" is part of that project and is the main shell.
The ventilation system common to all jackets is an angled adaptation of the system used in the TB Jacket & Pant.
The Tsurugi 10th Down Jacket features an improved insulation design designed for relatively low-temperature conditions, and is filled with 850-fill water-repellent down.
