Active insulation soft shell designed for mountain climbing. The outer shell is made entirely of soft, lightweight recycled nylon, and the lining is made of Octa®CPCP®.
This technical design is designed for ease of use in the mountains. It supports a wide range of active mountain activities, from high altitudes in the off-season to snowy mountains in the depths of winter.
Mapping lining Octa®CPCP®
- Hood: The Octa®CPCP® lining remains around the neck for a soft, warm feel against the skin, while the upper half is free of Octa lining, which would interfere with a knit cap or helmet.
- Arms: The upper half of the Octa has a smooth inner lining, which makes it easier to put on the sleeves and move your arms more easily.
- Cuffs: The cuffs where the gloves overlap are also designed to reduce bulk and have no Octa lining so that snow can be easily brushed off.
- Waist: The waist area, which interferes with backpacks and climbing harnesses, is also free of Octa lining.
Use of recycled Octa®CPCP®
Octa® fabric is made from two types of fibers: polyester wooly fiber and polyester hollow octopus fiber.
Of this, 53.6% of the woolly yarn has been replaced with recycled polyester (ECOPET®), reducing the environmental impact.
46.4% is regular polyester hollow octopus cross section yarn.
By using recycled polyester, compared to virgin polyester Octa®CPCP®, CO2 emissions during fabric manufacturing have been reduced by 23%. (*Calculation by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. CO2 emissions from raw materials (polymers) to fabric shipping)
Material characteristics
- Lightweight: Approximately half the weight of polyester fibers of the same diameter
- Moisture wicking and quick drying: Lightweight, about half the weight of polyester fibers of the same diameter
- Heat insulation: Dead air trapped in the space created by the hollow section and eight protrusions provides heat insulation.

- Helmet compatible hood
- The upper part of the hood where it overlaps with a helmet or knit cap, the waist area where it overlaps with a backpack harness, and the cuffs where it overlaps with gloves are made of nylon shell fabric only, with Octa®CPCP® removed.
- The hood opening is set slightly higher for added protection.
- Velcro cuffs that work well with gloves
- Three-dimensional cutting around the arms ensures a wide range of motion
- The Octa®CPCP® on the upper half of the arm is turned inside out to make it easier to put on and take off.
- The left and right hand pockets are lined with Octa®CPCP®, making them ideal for simple hand warmers.
- The center zipper features a double slider that also functions as ventilation.
