RawLow Mountain Works Rascal

The Rascal is the largest RLMW backpack with a capacity of over 45L, designed for tent-based mountain climbing. The zippered closure and roll-top allow for a wide range of volume adjustments.

Designed for long hikes and mountain climbing with a packing weight of 10-15kg, the back padding, harness pattern, and core material have been revised to provide a more solid feel than previous RLMW backpacks. The exquisite balance of lightness and durability, the hallmark of RLMW, remains the same as before.
In addition, the outer pockets have been carefully designed for ease of packing, usability, and size, making it ideal as a first backpack for intermediate to advanced enthusiasts as well as beginners to tenting.
It took about a year and a half of field testing before it was ready to be produced, resulting in a four-season backpack that can be used even in the harshest winter conditions.

The Rascal's greatest feature is its versatility, with its easily adjustable capacity. It can be used for everything from camping in huts to tents, and it's also spacious enough for hiking trips where you need to bring extra food. The back is also designed with a wide, moderately firm padding, providing excellent stability when hiking.
Although it is basically a backpack that is weighted on the shoulders, the harness design is such that the weight is distributed as much as possible.

Simple and large capacity outer pockets
Rascal is designed to be easy to pack and have convenient outer pockets.
The large, stretch mesh pocket on the front has a large gusset and ample storage. Depending on the model, it can even hold snowshoes, crampons, a shovel, etc. (There is a drainage hole at the bottom of the pocket.)
The waterproof zippered pocket for small items is intentionally shallow (approximately 20cm deep) to make it easy to access when fully packed.
The side pockets are large enough to hold not only bottles but also shelters and packraft paddles (with drainage holes).

The body types of users vary widely.
Rascal is designed to be easy to fit with as wide a range of adjustment as possible, with the hope that it will be used by as many people as possible.
The unprecedented stiffness and solid feel of the backpack is designed for tent-based mountain climbing, and you can only really experience its benefits when you're out in the field. The adjustment range of the load lifter, the flexible harness attachment angle, the harness size that minimizes the feeling of weight, and the inner pad adjustments were the areas that took the most time to develop.
