Product Description
Wearing winter fur from yaks that live in high altitudes
It is extremely comfortable to wear and envelops you in gentle warmth.
While using natural materials in outdoor wear, we discovered that yak has a wonderful quality that is different from sheep's wool.
Yak natural hair is a rare material that is not mass-produced like sheep's wool.
From among these, STATIC chose the one from Tibet.
Yak hair, which lives in more mountainous areas, would be a good match for our outdoor tendencies.
This intuitive encounter led to the development of a lightweight and functional product.
Unlike sheep, which have undergone many breeding improvements since the Industrial Revolution, yaks are primitive bovine animals that originated in Tibet.
Yaks live year-round in alpine grasslands at altitudes of 3,000 to 6,000 meters in places like Tibet and Nepal, and in winter they are active just below the snow line. Yaks are known for their excellent cold tolerance. To survive the long winter, they grow downy hair as winter approaches and shed it in the spring.
Nomads collect these and wash them to produce high-quality raw materials. Nowadays, like cashmere, they are carefully combed by hand. This method is ethical because, unlike sheep, the wool is not sheared from the entire body and there is no need for mulesing.
Yak down can be harvested every year, but only about 100g to 300g can be obtained from one adult yak. Compared to sheep's wool, which weighs about 4kg, down is extremely rare. The Tibetan yak hair used by STATIC is harvested at a rate of approximately 100g from each yak. The amount harvested is limited to avoid over-harvesting and to avoid stressing the yak.
*Mulesing is the practice of removing the skin and flesh from a lamb's genitals to prevent maggot infestation.

Care methods and precautions
PRODUCT CARE
Please enjoy your knitwear by following the correct care instructions so that it will last a long time.
- Dry cleaning is recommended.
- Wearing it for a long time may cause it to lose its shape, so please let it rest after wearing it for a day.
- After wearing, brush off any dust or debris with a soft brush to straighten the fur, then dry in the shade in a well-ventilated area. (Hanging for a long period of time may cause the shape to become distorted, so please dry flat as much as possible.)
- During the off-season, fill with insect repellent and store folded in a well-ventilated place.
- If the thread gets caught and comes out, do not cut it, but use a thin stick to push the thread back inside the product (we recommend using a fray repair needle).
- It is fine to wear it with normal clothing, but please be aware that if you wear it with something with a thick pile, such as a blanket, the pile may get tangled and pull against each other, which may cause the yak fibers to come off.
- In the off-season, fill with insect repellent and store in a well-ventilated place.

SUSTAINABILITY
- Mocha and Natural (YAK Liner) are not dyed, and the natural color of the yak hair is preserved. This has many benefits, such as reducing CO2 emissions during dyeing, not using chemical dyes, and not using water. However, STATIC also offers dyed color variations so that you can enjoy the colors.
- Non-mulesing: Since the wool used is naturally shed, there is no need to mulege like with sheep, making it gentler on the animals.
- We also use eco-friendly labels.
- Washing tag: 100% cotton lawn
- Brand tag: 50% or more recycled polyester
