Thought and Creation

With octa in front of me, all sorts of ideas come to mind one after another, but if I were to make everything, not only would there be too many items, but it would also be strange, with many similar items, which I think would end up confusing consumers... Perhaps this is also Ryo's aesthetic. With this in mind, I came up with the plan for this Calfuwa towel. Calling it a secondary item makes it sound like an unnecessary item, but the Calfuwa towel can be used in a way that is unique to Ryo, taking advantage of the characteristics of the material, so it is an item that plays a supporting role.

Usability

It doesn't feel like it wipes away sweat like a cotton towel, but it's a towel that feels comfortable to use and absorbs sweat before you know it.

Mastering

When you're snogging in cold weather, you can use it as a scarf or face mask, providing moderate warmth and excellent moisture absorption while you're active. When you're snogging in warmer weather, you can use it as a towel to wipe away excess sweat. When you're stagnant, you can wrap it over your base layer pants like a bath towel to quickly absorb sweat around your waist, preventing residual sweat and chills. It's also good for wiping off night dew from your tarp.

Material features

While the surface looks like a simple mesh, the underside is covered in fine, fluffy fibers, providing sufficient warmth despite its light weight. Teijin Octa is an innovative polyester material that weighs about half as much as polyester fibers of the same diameter. The hollow core of the fiber and the eight radially arranged protrusions on the surface not only quickly absorb and disperse sweat, but also trap dead air in the spaces created by its unique shape, providing heat insulation and insulation.

Personal Experience: I sweat a lot. No matter the time of year, when I reach my hammock spot after a shinogig, my underwear is soaked with sweat. It's the same in winter. There's nothing worse than having to spend the night in soaking wet underwear in winter. I could just change clothes, but I don't want to. So, I always use a towel from a certain hot spring like a loincloth to absorb the sweat from my underwear. While this is better than nothing, both the towel from a certain hot spring and my underwear remain damp. Seeking a solution, I tried wrapping a Karufuwa towel around my waist. The Karufuwa towel absorbed the sweat well, and my underwear dried faster than with a hot spring towel. Actually, maybe that's exactly why the Karufuwa towel was designed.
