HIKER TRASH
HIKER TRASH HIKE & RUN
Product Description
The opening of the HIKER TRASH socks has a hole for a carabiner, inspired by the way long-distance hikers would make holes in their wet socks with a knife and hang them on their tents or backpacks to dry.
Made with machine-washable merino wool, merino wool has excellent heat retention and moisture absorption/release properties, protecting the body from cold sweat and the elements. Its natural antibacterial properties also help prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria, making it less likely to develop an odor.
In the abrasion test to measure the durability of the socks, the socks recorded approximately 6,500 wears on the toes and heels, and approximately 6,000 wears on the soles of the feet.
*Generally, the pass mark for casual socks is approximately 500 to 1,000 times, and for sports socks it is 2,500 to 3,000 times.
In 2017, SKETCH (RYOSUKE KAWATO) field-tested a prototype of the HIKER TRASH while hiking the 5,000km Continental Divide Trail, the most difficult of the three major trails in the United States. Any damage that occurred along the way was reported back to the team in Japan, and improvements were made and the product was sent back to the United States. The HIKER TRASH series was born from this repeated process, and it offers the true toughness that hikers require.
*Carabiner not included.
