Thought and Creation
In an era when stretch materials were not available and luxuries were difficult, mountain work clothes were made from precious bolts of fabric, with minimal waste and still easy to move in. As such, pants packed with ingenuity would surely be easy to move in, we adapted the pattern of a real work suit to create pants for sinogging. The material is nylon rather than cotton, as you'd expect, but we chose a twill weave with a subdued sheen to maintain as natural an appearance as possible. This is another item that can only be found at Ryo, which incorporates traditional Japanese designs.
Comfort
The moment you put them on, you'll feel the ease of movement and coolness. They're more airtight than they look, and the material is neither too thick nor too thin, and the wide crotch gusset extends all the way to the hem, allowing you to feel cool and free of movement. Based on the pants used in mountain work in the past, they easily accommodate even the steepest climbs where you might hit your chin with your knee. The streamlined waist area, with no unnecessary nylon belts, means they won't interfere with the hip belt of a large backpack. They're perfect for snoggining from mid-April to early autumn, when daytime temperatures begin to rise.
Dressing
These pants have a very striking silhouette, so they can give off a sense of intimacy on their own, but why not pair them with Noragi to perfect your look? That way, you won't look out of place even if you slip into the filming of a period drama. There are holes on the inside of the hem for inserting string, so you can tighten the hem and wear them. On the other hand, you can also wear them with kunai around the legs and leave the pants loose at the knees to get through difficult situations. The silhouette that flutters gently in the wind is the very definition of a solitary Shinora, creating a silhouette that is truly Japanese.
